What if the University Libraries do not have the book I am looking for?
Answer
If we do not have an available copy of the book you are looking for, there are a number of options for getting it:
- You can submit an interlibrary loan request for the book to be shipped here from another library.
- Students, staff, and faculty can borrow books from local academic libraries that participate in the Memphis Area Library Council reciprocal borrowing agreement. You can see if a book is available at local libraries using the WorldCat database.
- Check if Memphis Public Libraries has it. Even if you do not live in the library district, MPL cards are available to "students of local colleges and universities."
- Faculty, staff, and graduate students may also submit a purchase request. Submission of the form does not guarantee purchase. Book costs and Libraries' acquisitions budgets will be considered when making purchasing decisions.
