How do I know if a journal is peer reviewed?

Answer

The most definitive way is to go to the journal's or publisher's website. Peer-reviewed journals will have a description of their peer review policy. It is likely in a section labeled something like About, For Authors, Author Guidelines, Editorial Policy, Publish, or Submissions.

You can also look up whether journals in our collection are peer reviewed using the journal search.

  1. Go to the Libraries homepage and click the link to "Search Journals."

Nav item link "Search Journals"

  1. In the Journal Search that comes up, enter the title of your journal into the search bar.

Heading Journal search, form labeled "Please enter search terms"

  1. Click the title of your journal in the results, This will take you to a record page that will label whether your journal is peer reviewed.
