Q. What if the University Libraries does not have the book I am looking for?

If we do not have an available copy of the book you are looking for, there are a number of options for getting it:

• Submit an interlibrary loan request for the book to be loaned from another library.
• Current students, staff, and faculty can borrow books from local libraries that participate in the Memphis Area Library Council reciprocal borrowing agreement. You can see if a book is available at local libraries using the WorldCat database.
• Check if Memphis Public Libraries has it. Even if you do not live in the library district, MPL cards are available to "students of local colleges and universities."
• Faculty, staff, and graduate students may also submit a purchase request. Submission of the form does not guarantee purchase. Book costs and Libraries' acquisitions budgets will be considered when making purchasing decisions.
