Everyone who creates a Zotero account is also given a free Zotero profile page. Your profile will be at "zotero.org/[your username]." You can share information about yourself and your research, and people can even add citations to your publications to their own Zotero libraries with one click!
Updating Your Profile
- Go to zotero.org and login if you have not already.
- Click your name in the top navigation.
- In the menu that pops up, click "My Profile."
- This will take you to your profile page. To edit it, click "Edit Profile" under your name.
- On the page that opens, you can:
- Change your username
- Upload a profile picture
- Fill out text boxes for your real name, location, affiliation, about you bio, and website.
- You can also select your discipline from a list. Hold the Ctrl key (Windows) or Command key (Mac) to select multiple.
- Click "Save Profile" to finish.
Adding Your Publications
To populate your profiles with your publications, add their citations to the My Publications collection in either the desktop app or the web library. Adding citations to My Publications is the same as adding a citation to a collection. When you add a citation, a box will pop up asking if you want to share any notes or attached files with the citation. Check if you want to include them and check the box as to whether or not you have the permission to share them.
Once added to My Publications, your publications will be automatically added at the bottom of your profile. They will be organized first by their Zotero item type and then in reverse chronological order. People using your profile can see your citation information and automatically add the citations to their Zotero libraries by clicking "Add to library."
