It's easiest to figure out which database to use either by using the research guides or the Search Databases page.
Check the Research Guides
- Browse our Research Guides for database recommendations and searching help. They are organized by subject, course, and general topic and can be searched.
- The Databases page of the Library Help Videos guide has recommendations for finding and using specific popular databases.
Use the Search Databases Page
Find our most popular databases and databases for your subject areas using the Search Databases page. To do so, watch this video or use the text instructions below.

Text Instructions for Finding Databases
- Start on the Libraries homepage and click on the Search Databases link.
- This will bring you to our Electronic Resources page.
- To find a database for your subject or topic,
- Scroll to the heading "Search databases by subject."
- Use the dropdown menu to select one of our most common subject areas or click the link to "Browse all database subjects" to see the full list.
- The results for each subject will be in alphabetical order. Click a database name to access or click "View Resource Record" to see a description of the database.
- To find choose one of our most popular databases, under the heading "Most Used Databases" click the dropdown menu.
