You can use site search to search only a specific website! This feature is available in many common search engines, such as Google, Bing, and DuckDuckGo. You will add "site:" to your search in the search or URL field, as shown below.
The site: tool can be used for:
- (dot) domains: .gov, .edu, .org, .mil
- base URLs of webpages: commercialappeal.com, tn.gov
For example, to look at all government sites, in the search box, enter your search terms, then add site:.gov.
For example: campaign finance transparency site:.gov
If you were trying to find info on air quality information in Memphis, type into your search engine: air quality Memphis site:.gov.
To search for air quality news in the Commercial Appeal, enter your search terms then add site:commercialappeal.com.
For example: air quality Memphis site:commercialappeal.com
Do not put a space between the colon (:) and the domain or base URL.
